Kendal will be remembering those who served on Armistice Day (Saturday 11 November) and Remembrance Sunday (12 November).
The Mayor of Kendal, accompanied by a bugler and representatives from the Royal British Legion, will lead a moment of silence at the War Memorial in the Market Place at 11am on Saturday. Wreaths will be laid.
On Sunday the Mayor will lay wreaths at the Gilkes memorial and Romney Gardens, before laying a wreath at the War Memorial in Market Place at 9.30am, along with veterans, members of the Armed Forces, the Royal British Legion and those who wish to pay tribute.
There will be a procession from the Town Hall, down Highgate, to Kendal Parish Church at 10.25am for the annual Remembrance Day Service at 10.45.am. Following the service, the parade will return up Highgate to the Town Hall around 11.45am.
At 11am on Sunday the piper/bugler will play the last post and the exhortation will be read in Market Place for those who wish to pay tribute then.
We hope to see you there.
