Train Station
Kendal’s Railway Station is a small, unstaffed station on the Lakes Line between Oxenholme and Windermere. There is step free access and a ramp available to board trains at Kendal Train Station, there are also accessible ticket machines available at this station.
If you need help getting on or off the train please ask the Train Conductor onboard or call 08000223720 for further advice on assisted travel.
Oxenholme – The Lake District is Kendal’s closest mainline train station which is less than three miles away from Kendal Town centre. This train station is staffed and contains toilet facilities and a waiting room.
Parking
Blue Badge holders can park in any bay in all SLDC car parks for free. Blue Badge holders need to display their badge. A full list of disabled parking spaces can be found here.
Buses
Type 2 Standard mobility scooters are allowed on public low floor buses in Cumbria but only if you have had your scooter pass a test by stagecoach. They can do these at your local bus depot or they will come out to your house with a bus too.
