Microbrewery - The Factory Tap is the home to the hand-crafted, Lakeland inspired beers of Bowness Bay Brewing. There are always several beers on the pump at the bar.

Microbrewery - Fell Bar on Lowther Street serve craft beer from their local brewery – Fell Brewery.

MINT CAKE

Kendal is famous for Kendal Mint Cake and it’s still produced in the town today. You can pick up a bar in the local shops or learn more about its history here.

LAKELAND ARTISAN

With over 70 Great Taste Awards to date and many other accolades, Lakeland Artisan is a truly award-winning company!
Based here in Kendal, they produce delicious preserves, chutneys and fruit syrups under Cumbrian Delights, a range of soft drinks and cordials as Mawson's Traditional Drinks and a range of Gin, Vodka, Rum and Whisky Liqueurs as Lakeland Liqueurs.

PAPPY'S TEXAS BBQ

A family business with a big heart producing oak smoked quality meat cooked low and slow at ‘The Old Smokehouse’ – a listed building from 1881 that was Kendal’s original smokehouse and has been lovingly restored. The family produce delicious BBQ food for events and celebrations across the UK, purchase their meat online and discover their pop-up BBQ nights here in Kendal.

MINT CAKE LIQUEUR

Created in 1990 from an original recipe, Kendal Mint Cake Liqueur took inspiration from our legendary Kendal Mint Cake. You can sample it in the Made in Cumbria shop. This alcoholic liqueur blends the peppermint cake recipe and a hint of chocolate!

STAFF OF LIFE BAKERY

Staff of Life Bakery has been baking hand made artisan breads in Kendal since 1997. You’ll find them on Berry’s Yard where breads are based daily by hand. If you want to have a go yourself, join one of their regular baking courses.

THE BAKERY AT NUMBER FOUR

The Bakery at Number Four offers a delicious array of ever-changing pastries, cakes and traybakes including salted Rolo brownies, Guinness cake and plum and crumble topped shortbread. Primarily a takeaway, the shop has a few tables and chairs so you can enjoy a piece of cake in the rustic surrounds. The Bakery at Number Four is perhaps most famous for it’s bespoke, handmade occasion cakes, order one to celebrate a special occasion.

Ginger Bakers produce an inspiring range of cakes and bakes using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. You can buy their cakes in the Made in Cumbria shop, at the Ginger Bakers shop at Plumgarths, or online.

We are proud to celebrate Kendamil – a local businesses who create palm oil free baby formula using only full cream milk, sourced locally from farms in the North West of England and produced in Kendal.

NORTHERN WINE

Winery; partners Harry and Stacey are bringing winemaking to the North. They are making minimal intervention wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Bacchus. The grapes are sourced from some really special vineyards in Essex and naturally fermented right here in Kendal.
