The Visit Kendal website has been developed to showcase Kendal and to celebrate all it has to offer – the people, landscape, culture, festivals, shopping, eateries and events.
This business toolkit has been created to provide tools and guidance to help you positively promote your business and join the Visit Kendal destination campaign! Below you will find a selection of useful marketing assets and guidelines.
Business Directories & What’s On Calendar

Social Media
We have an active Instagram account and would love to showcase your business, please tag us @visit_kendal, into your business posts and stories and we will share these on our account where suitable. We also recommending using #VisitKendal and #Kendal in your posts or tagging the location as Kendal. We will feature as many posts tagged in this way as possible! Our Instagram feed is also pulled onto the Visit Kendal homepage which increases visibility further.

‘Google My Business’ Profile
‘Google My Business’ is a platform allowing you to control your business listing in Google. Setting your business up with a ‘Google My Business’ listing will give your business a public identity and presence on Google Search and Google Maps. You can add contact information, business hours, showcase pictures, and interact directly with potential customers. The map shown on the Visit Kendal website is driven by Google, therefore by creating your business listing on Google, your business will also be showcased here on the Visit Kendal map.
Setting up a ‘Google My Business’ listing is free; simply fill out the form on Google My Business. Once you have completed this form, Google will send you a postcard containing a verification code, on receiving your postcard, log back into your Google account and enter the details shown on the postcard. Google provide information about their ‘My Business’ service on this short video.

We welcome the use of the Kendal branding, logos, icons and imagery to help promote our town. Feel free to use it on your own promotional materials, websites and in social media, along with links to visit-kendal.co.uk.
The branding is not intended to be used for commercial purposes, such as on goods for sale. If you would like to use the branding on products or materials for sale, please contact us with details of your proposal and examples of your proposed products. Kendal Futures will consider your request and if approved, may ask for a percentage of the profits to be used to support future promotional activities for the town.
