We’re excited to invite you to experience the refreshed Serpentine Family Trail, beautifully situated in Kendal’s Serpentine Woods and conveniently close to the town centre.

This alphabet sculpture trail offers a peaceful 1.2-mile (1.9 km) walk through nature, featuring sculptures crafted by our community’s talented local artists and makers. Each sculpture represents a different letter of the alphabet, adding an educational twist to your stroll.

You can download the trail map here on the Visit Kendal website, and use it to uncover all the treasures along the way. This trail is a fantastic opportunity for both locals and visitors to enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the creativity of our community.

The woodland canopy provides some shelter, regardless of the weather. And since each sculpture corresponds to a different letter of the alphabet, you can easily track your progress along the trail.

We would like to express our gratitude to Fellside Forum, Kendal Conservation Volunteers, Kendal Town Council, and Westmorland and Furness Council for their support in revitalising this trail. The trail map and leaflet was designed by  Matthew aka Mr Letters and Holly Acland Illustration.

Lace up your walking shoes and come join us on the Serpentine Family Trail for a relaxing walk surrounded by art and nature. We look forward to seeing you there!
