The Cumbria Food Awards are returning for the third year.

The TV presenter and chef, Simon Rimmer, is to host the much-anticipated event at Kendal College on Thursday, 14 March 2024.

The independent and free-to-enter awards, which are held in association with Caterite, are expected to be a highlight of the hospitality industry’s year.

Simon Rimmer, best known for Sunday Brunch, will unveil the winners of 15 categories, from cafés, to chefs, restaurants, producers and pubs. A new category is for Service of the Year, which will shine a light on a front-of-house team member.

The Cumbria Food Awards are the county’s only awards dedicated to the hospitality industry. Judged by an independent panel of experts, they are designed to recognise and celebrate excellence.

The 2023 awards attracted more than 1,400 entries and public nominations.

The 2024 award nominations are now open.
