In light of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, here is a guide to help you to stay safe whilst collecting essential shopping and at the same time supporting our local businesses.
You can also support local businesses by heading to Shopappy to purchase items from shops in Kendal and have these items delivered.
If you live here in Kendal or the surrounding areas and need help with shopping, dog walking, picking up prescriptions or just want to chat to someone on the phone then get in touch with the Kendal volunteer group on email@example.com. They have volunteers covering all areas of Kendal and the surrounding areas. Alternatively if you are at high risk of becoming seriously ill from COVID-19 and do not have any support you can call the emergency helpline on 0800 783 1966 or email COVID19support@cumbria.gov.uk.
The Government has been very clear on the need not to undertake unnecessary travel and to socially distance in your own home. Our Visit Kendal partners all support the official advice to stay home and stay safe.
Cumbria’s health services are only resourced for the resident population which is around half a million with a large proportion of elderly people. We all have a responsibility – visitors, tourism businesses and residents – to heed government advice and help save lives.
Please note, that the majority of our events, activities and attractions are temporarily closed, as are many shops. If you are a visitor, we look forward to welcoming you back to Kendal when it is safe for you to return.
