COUNTRY FEST

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Society Trustees have made the sad but sensible decision to cancel this year’s Country Fest which was due to take place on Saturday and Sunday 30 and 31 May 2020.

“A feast for all senses, for country lovers” – that just about sums it up. Country Fest is a unique and very special celebration of countryside life, taking place in beautiful surroundings just outside Kendal each summer.

You’ll find a weekend jam-packed with family-friendly activities, incredible demonstrations, traditional sports, animal shows and of course the very best of local food & drink.

From baking competitions to traditional fell running, terrier racing to hair-raising stunt shows, hearty food to live music nights with the best of local beer … you haven’t experienced country life until you’ve experienced Country Fest!

WESTMORLAND COUNTY SHOW

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Society Trustees have made the sad but sensible decision to cancel this year’s Westmorland County Show 2020 which was due to take place on Thursday 10th September.

Founded in 1799, the Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the country – and one of the oldest – renowned for its relaxed, convivial atmosphere and firm roots in rural tradition.

Traditionally held on the 2nd Thursday of September each year, the County Show has its heart firmly in agriculture and is a major livestock show – featuring animals from alpacas to pigs and heavy horses.

Westmorland County Show features the largest Food Hall in the north west, alongside hundreds of stalls and marquees packed with traditional crafts, activities and displays.
