South Lakes Action on Climate Change (SLACC) have been pulling together an exciting new project and have the go ahead to trial E-cargo bike activity, over a 4 week period in September with a bike kindly on loan from Raleigh.
The aim will be to engage a few businesses to trial some collections and deliveries by bike, and to organise some public-facing activities for trial-outs and awareness-raising.
The project is dependent on volunteers and SLACC are looking for 2 or 3 people to be part of the organising team (anything from 1 hour per week up to whatever they like until the end of September) alongside volunteer riders.
If you’d like to volunteer to support the project please contact sltransition@gmail.com.
The project also aims to see several businesses or organisations utilising the bikes for a few days or a week to use as they see fit for business purposes. If you are a local business owner or work with a local business and are interested in loaning a cargo bike please contact sltransition@gmail.com.
The trial aims to research interest and potential for a permanent e-cargo bike scheme across Kendal town.
