We’re thrilled to welcome back the OVO Energy Tour of Britain!

Excitement is building for stage four of the race, which will finish here in Kendal with a challenging climb up Beast Banks.

In recent years, Cumbria has witnessed some of the most exciting stages of Britain’s premier road cycling race and we look forward to more brilliant action.

The county has spectacular landscape and scenery, and we’re delighted the Tour of Britain will be passing through several western Yorkshire Dales communities in Cumbria for the first time, with some of the world’s top professional cyclists racing through Brough, Kirkby Stephen, Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale.

Our town is home to a fabulous collection of galleries, museums and art centres, and you’ll find everything from adventurous activities to leisurely strolls, so make a day of your trip. Just remember to head to the finish line early. The scene of a dramatic finish was witnessed by 10,000 spectators when the Tour of Britain last came to the town in 2016!

Cumbria County Council is the main sponsor and co-host of stage four and, together with their partners South Lakeland District Council, Eden District Council and Yorkshire Dales National Park, are looking forward to another day of top class racing.
