There’s plenty to do to keep your family entertained whatever the weather, with actives both inside and out.

Get Active
The half term holidays are the perfect time to enjoy the spectacular autumn colours around us, take your family for a walk down the banks of the River Kent or enjoy one of Kendal’s great parks.

Head into the town centre for refreshments at one of our family friendly cafes and browse the latest seasonal offerings in our wonderful shopping centres.

Don’t despair if the weather doesn’t play fair – Kendal library is full of vibrant children’s book to entertain your little ones and we have fantastic facilities for swimming with kids of all ages at Kendal Leisure Centre. If you’re looking to challenge your children further, why not give our amazing Climbing Wall a try?

Below are a few highlights of the organised activities taking place in our town this October half term:

Kendal Museum
Discover a spooktastic Halloween Trail around Kendal Museum included in the normal price of admission which is just £5 for adults, £2 for 5-18 year olds and free for under 5’s. Plus sign up for the loyalty membership at no extra cost and you can return to the museum for free throughout the year! The Halloween Trail runs throughout October.

Rag Tag Arts
Get creative at Rag Tag Arts. There’s a great choice of events to book from drawing classes to Halloween themed craft sessions along with a coffee shop for refreshments.

Quaker Tapestry Museum
Fun for all ages, whatever the weather! The Quaker Tapestry Museum is a great place for children and families to visit.
Accompanied under 18s Go Free and an adult accompanying a child aged 0-4 pays just £3.00!

Kendal Leisure Centre
A week filled with kids classes including Gymnastic Camp, Intensive Swim Lessons, Multi sports days and even a Nerfs Day.

The Brewery Arts Centre
Check out kids blockbuster films at the Brewery Arts Centre this half term or for older kids, try something a bit different – Pete Firman is one of the UK’s most popular magicians and he’s heading to the Brewery Arts Centre over October half term. You’ve seen him on television, now experience his trademark blend of laugh-out-loud comedy and jaw-dropping magic live on stage.

Outside In
For kids aged 10 and under, Outside In provides a great environment to play and socialise on a rainy day – with a lovely cafe, soft play area and outdoor playground.

Crazy Climb
Head for heights? Crazy climb classes at Kendal Climbing Wall are available to book for children this October, no experience necessary.

Mini Storytellers
A place for children to grow in creativity, confidence and imagination. Mini Storytellers returns with Halloween themed events for October half term.

Pumpkins at Lakeland Maze Farm Park
Book a spot before the end of October and access the Pumpkin Patch, tractor rides, soft play and meet a whole host of interesting animals!
