Shoppers and traders in Kendal are set to benefit from a festive boost this December, with free parking on Thursday afternoons after 2pm in council-run car parks.

The offer applies throughout December and is designed to encourage Christmas shoppers to visit Kendal at a traditionally quieter time, helping to support local businesses and create a lively late-afternoon and early-evening atmosphere in the town.

Kendal car parks included in the free Thursday after-2pm offer are:

• Kendal Parish Church

• Peppercorn Lane

• Highgate Bowman

• Dowker Lane

• Library Road

• South Lakeland House

• Blackhall Road

• Sandes Avenue

The free parking initiative is part of a wider Westmorland and Furness Council scheme aimed at supporting town centres and encouraging residents and visitors to shop local and enjoy all Kendal has to offer during the festive season.
