The school holidays are upon us and it’s time to find ways to keep the kids entertained.
Here is just a taster of the family friendly events taking place in Kendal this summer:
LEGO Sculptures | Abbot Hall Gallery | Standard gallery admission, no additional fee | 22nd June – 31st August
Pop into Abbot Hall Art Gallery and create LEGO sculptures inspired by works in the Elisabeth Frink exhibition, running from 22nd June – 31st August 2018.
Strike A Pose | Abbot Hall Gallery | Standard gallery admission, no additional fee | 22nd June – 31st August
Interact with light and shadow to become a living statue inspired by the sculptures on display at Abbot Hall.
BounceFest | Kendal Rugby Club | 3rd August – 6th August | 10am – 6pm
Hardy Soft Play Hire will be filling the rugby pitch with bouncy castles, inflatable slides, giant games, hoppers and ball pools!
Perfect fun for children under 12 alongside a special separate toddler area.
Sessions start at 10am and last for 45 minutes costing £5 per child.
Summer Holiday Crafts | Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry | Standard gallery admission, no additional fee | 20th July – 31st August
This summer the Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry invites you to take part in free craft activities inspired by their Votes for Women display.
Lakeland Maize Maze and Farm Park | Saturday 14th July 2018 to Sunday 30th September 2018 | Raines Hall Farm | LA8 0JH | 10am – 6pm
Head to the Farm Park this summer and give the Lakeland Maize Maze a try. Alongside the maze you will find trampolines, outdoor karting, tractor & trailer rides and an indoor picnic area.
Sheepdog Trails | 22nd August | Hill Farm, LA8 9QQ | 10am
Give your children a taste of traditional Lakeland life at the annual sheepdog trials with dog shows, hound trails, Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, trade stands and refreshments available.
Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre is jam packed with kids creative courses this summer. Take the kids down to learn ‘The Big Top’ circus skills, join a ‘Make, Write, Draw’ poetry classes or get artistic at the ‘Kids Creative Academy’. Each workshop runs on several dates over the summer holidays.
