Kendal South Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Geoffrey Field, with soloists Ellie Blewitt, Kristen Gregory and Jonny Hill, present Haydn’s secular oratorio The Seasons. It is divided into four parts – Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter – with the usual recitatives, arias, choruses, and ensemble numbers. The pieces depict human activity during the seasons, including a hunting scene and enjoying the first wine.
