Hundreds of youngsters in Kendal enjoyed an ‘egg-xiting’ Easter ‘egg-stravaganza’ as they took part in the Little Explorers ‘A Bugs Life’ kids’ club at Kendal’s Westmorland Shopping Centre.

Led by characters Laura Lady Bird and Buzzy Bee, families enjoyed a host of free Easter themed activities from making their own chocolate bunnies to listening to stories with William Wordsworth, the poet worm puppet and enjoying an Easter treasure hunt.

The free Easter event, gave children an opportunity to learn about Spring and nature in a fun, engaging and interactive way using performer led imaginative play and craft.

The Bugs Life Kids’ Club was the first of four Little Explorers Kids’ Clubs to take place this year, with free events also taking place during May half term, the summer holidays and Christmas.

Amanda Winterson, 37 from Kendal said “I brought my daughters Amelia and Phoebe along today and they absolute loved it! The performers were so engaging and it’s great that the activities were educational as well as being so much fun.”

Westmorland Shopping Centre Manager, Nick Pitt added, “It was great to see so many families here today enjoying the free Easter holiday activities. We are really looking forward to our next Little Explorers Kids’ Club in May half term on Wednesday 29th May, where families can join us for a free Mad Hatters Tea Party event to celebrate the centre’s 30th anniversary year.”
